As 2016 Ends
Saturday, December 31, 2016
In just few short hours, it'll be 2017. The hustle and bustle starts to unfold in the Ordillo household in preparation for our new year's eve dinner, while I sit here, writing this piece at the kitchen table before the effects of the 200mg soft gel ibuprofen capsule I've just popped in wears off. And, if you must know, I just threw up the last meal I had. Nothing to be concerned about, really... just a massive headache and body pain I'm having since yesterday that caused me to spent the entire whole day on the bed, dreaming an altogether bizarre dreams, might be visions, who knows. But, I'm fine. I can still perfectly 'like' all your Facebook posts, respond to your sweet new year greetings and surprisingly, blog. Of course, I'm fine.
Oddly enough, I find all these things, as in, these sort of commotions my sisters are up to in the kitchen at this very moment, whatever shenanigans that may be, or these seemingly blusterous conversations we have with our parents and later, karaoke {free concert, dear neighbors! You're welcome!} quite soothing, reassuring even. One of the many things 2016 taught me, is to invest as much of myself in my family as in my career, ministry and/or other relationships. Because you know what, some of the things we once put considerable emphasis on will dwindle eventually, but family... family will be our foundation forever. They say “happiness is achieved not by having what we want — but by wanting what we have” among those — my family. Crazy as they are! 🤣
As 2016 ends, I hope you find joy in everything, regardless of how tough and challenging things may turn up. I hope you find it in full, with your families by your side, supporting and cheering you on this 2017 and the years to come. Be safe, feel loved and be sure to let yourself enjoy something delicious!
Can't wait see where 2017 would take us. Cheers! 🎉🎉🎉
